Love is a beautiful thing. Finding that special someone who fits you like a glove is like the cream in your coffee or butter on your toast. And now it's that time-- Valentine's Day. We all know as modern men that we should let our someone special know each-and-every-day, like 365, how much they mean to us. But it doesn't matter what we know, because it's what they want. And what they want is
an outward expression of love.
When it comes to giving an amazing gift, it's about making her feel special -- that you value her and are thankful for her. So, in an effort to help you express your love for your one-and-only and spark some creative juices, I have some fantastic ideas for an amazing Valentine's gift. Game over -- you win!
If you can go to the gas station or the drugstore and get your girl a Valentine's Day gift, it's lame. You can do better than that! Flowers, chocolates, and even stuffed unicorns are played out. Furthermore, don't ever give her appliances, exercise equipment, fake diamonds, something you want, a pet, or lingere. But, there ARE gifts that she will LOVE.
Okay, for the first idea, make a short video letting her know the 10 reasons why you are super pumped that she’s your special someone. How brilliant is that? You can get to plan it, strategize everything you want to say, have fun with it, and be playful. You can mix sentimental aspects and romance into one video. You could do something like the ‘amazing top 10 list’ or the ‘10 reasons why
you're awesome’. It can be quick & easy, and you can post it on social media too!
Another idea is to be creative by planning & engaging in a painting excursion. Have you ever seen those places where children have pottery painting parties? Well, they're actually way more fun than they actually sound! And they're also a great date + gift idea for you and your special someone on Valentine's Day. Add a bottle of wine & glasses and make an evening out of it. So when you
arrive, you'll pick out a piece of pottery, and then you two will have a nice conversation while painting the pottery. A week later, you'll go back and pick up the finished pieces after they’ve been fired in the kiln. It's a lasting expression of your love which won't die like roses.
If there's a band or concert that she would love, or perhaps a comedy show, tickets are a great gift. It's all about the experience and sharing an event together, building a memory. Research has shown that when we share experiences, we feel closer to them.
This Valentine's Day idea will benefit not only her but also you -- have a spa day. Chicks love spas, and spa services are actually beneficial for us guys too. You'll benefit from the mani-pedi, facial, and definitely from the couple's massage. It's a romantic Valentine's Day experience.
Alright, the next idea is a Valentine’s staycation. Get your bags packed and go out of town while staying in town. How? Leave the house and have a romantic evening at a local hotel. Who doesn't love going to a hotel? You can have room service, hang out, or plan a great night out for a fancy or casual dinner. You could even have a picnic. Doing something out of the ordinary throws a little spice into your life
and creates a memorable Valentine's Day.
Food is ALWAYS a people pleaser, so when you actually make an amazing dinner for her, she is sure to be doubly pleased. Plan what you cook, whip up the dinner, light the candles -- it’s game over! You win Valentine's Day. Food is romantic, and when you're taking the time to actually plan and create an entire meal with ambiance, it shows that you put time and effort into something for her.
If diamonds are not in your budget or that's not really where you're at in your relationship (you want to do something a little bit more modest), a lot of affordable jewelry options are out there. Simple silver pendants and bracelets, for example, are options along with subtle rings. Just be careful to make sure you know her taste, as every woman has a specific jewelry taste.

So while boxes of chocolates and flowers are both delicious and beautiful, they're played out. We, as modern alpha men, can do better. This Valentine's Day, show the one you love your best and treat her right! Happy Valentine's Day, gentlemen.
