If they're hating, you're probably doing something right.
Haters: The Unwanted Fan Club
A hater can be defined as somebody who feels it's their job or responsibility to point out all of your flaws. We all experience them from time to time, and you know them because they're usually criticizing you,
typically out of left field.
Conversations with them could go something like, "Billy from the gym is doing awesome, and he just bought a new house in a great subdivision." And then they say something about if he's doing that great, then why is he driving a piece of crap car. This comment leaves us wondering why they're hating on Billy.
I don't know much, but I know these three life truths. The sun will rise tomorrow, my mother loves me, and haters will hate. That's what haters do. These haters are the people in your life, whether in real life or cyber, who enjoy picking you apart. And if they detect something you're sensitive about, they will go there.
There's a way to handle
these horrible human beings. One of the best things you can do with haters is to have thick skin and confidence. Become Teflon, meaning you're so confident that even though they're hating, you know that you must be doing something right for them to be hating like that. The key distinguishing characteristic is that if you're not succeeding, people aren't going to be hating.
Haters aren't going to try to tear you down and pick you apart if you're not doing something right. Whether it's my ears or my height, they've been pointed out to me even though those comments are irrelevant to me teaching confidence, grooming, and style.
When you're doing something right, the haters are going to hate. They'll try
to steal your joy and find something to get to you, trying to get you to respond. But the worst thing you can do is respond. When you're bombarded by negativity, don't react. Your first instinct is to respond and tear them apart, but do nothing.
Everyone's negative comment about another person reflects their own issues and insecurities. The truth is,
it's not about you. If a girl calls another girl ugly, the girl making the comment is worried about her looks or has very little else but looks, so she puts more emphasis on that. People talk about others behind their backs because they don't like having their own flaws pointed out face to face.
When you have to work with haters, ignore them and act like you're blind or oblivious to their words. You're not the only one they treat this
way, and pretty much all coworkers and management know their negative behavior. The best thing you can do is not buy into their drama; ultimately, they'll burn themselves out. The worst thing you can do is engage in the drama.
Haters are not only in your family and work but also online. These are people
who, when they see you doing well or feeling confident, will try to interfere with that. The best thing is to stay the course and not pay attention to them. Remember that you have a tough shield of confidence.
You can delete other people's comments online but can't do that in real life if they're in your office, in your family, or a friend. However, you can limit
the amount of time that you're spending and interacting with them. If they're hating, they are jealous or want to make you feel as bad as they are.
Haters may throw insults, but nothing will stick if you learn to take their insults as compliments. Instead of getting bent out of shape, realize these people aren't worth your time. You have places to go, and you don't have time to engage
with these horrible people.
Haters are small people with small minds. You have big dreams and big goals -- you're going to go places, so just push those haters aside and keep moving forward. Don't let the negative people affect you. They'll always be there, so don't let them steal your focus and direction.
They may be hating on you today, but tomorrow, there will be somebody else. They're pathetic and sad, and you are secure and confident. Keep in mind that I haven't always handled haters perfectly in the past. There have been
comments where I've been tempted to respond and rip them but I start to think about what I should be doing.
Bring on the haters! If they want to hate on you, that's cute. Let them hate, and just bring them on! But don't let them steal your spirit because this means they win. Be confident and understand that social monkeys will always attack you if they think you're doing better than them to make
themselves feel better about their mediocre, malicious, vile existence.
Maintain your sanity by being kind to those who are kind to you only if it's reciprocal. Otherwise, cut out the haters -- F@#K THEM. Just realize that when people destructively criticize you, it is always about them and never about you. When people call out others' flaws, they project by expressing what they hate about
themselves. Don't address the criticism; it's not worth it, and you'll be happier if you don't devote mental energy to it.
