It's that time of year again. Holiday time! Well, Thanksgiving has passed. I ate my weight in stuffing, mashed potatoes, and
turkey. I'm working all of that off right now, but I am also focusing on the holidays ahead. Whatever you celebrate, I want you also to take a minute to reflect a little bit.
The holidays are generally a time of year where everybody's happy to be around family. And during these strange covid times, we may be isolated from our families. But we can still be thankful for all the good things that have happened over the past year. We can also take appreciation for what we have because a lot of people are much less fortunate.
When I was a child, we didn't have a ton of money, but my parents always ensured a gift or two under the tree. As for most children, the anticipation of what's under the tree was exhilarating for me. But for many people, putting food on the table and gas in the car is hard enough, and they just don't have any extra money for gifts for their
kids.
That brings me to this reflection -- I always like to do something nice for people during this time of year. Now, more than ever is a time for generosity and giving. When you do something nice for their people, you feel good as well.
The children are really who I feel for this time of year. I like to donate toys, which helps the kids and in turn makes me feel good & in tune with the holiday season. My focus is usually children via donations to Toys for Tots. But I don't stop there -- I do something, however seemingly simple & small, to help someone every day during the month of
December.
So I want YOU to join my challenge! From now through the holiday, I want you to perform one random act of kindness every single day. It can be something as simple as opening the door for somebody, picking up something somebody dropped. You could buy a gift and donate it to Toys for Tots. You decide what that random act of kindness is going to be.
Here are some ideas to get you started:
That's the challenge, gentlemen! From NOW until the end of the holidays, I want you all to do one random act of kindness per day. Do something nice for somebody daily.
If we all make an effort to do one thing nice for other people, you'll know that the world is a little bit of a better place during this challenging time. And it'll make you feel good in the process. The holidays are a happy and joyous season, but for a lot of people, they're not.
So let's all pitch-in to make this holiday season brighter & more joyful for others. Are you up for the challenge? I knew I could count on you.
