By the time you notice, 25 people have already
noticed!
If you have been following me, you know that I am an avid groomer. I have a grooming regimen that I follow consistently from head to toe. I have had incredibly mixed bag of comments regarding certain parts of my body that I groom (such as my legs, which I have been called ‘gay.’ This blows my mind thinking people are STILL using being gay as an insult, but you see it all the
time).
I do care about manscaping, and more and more men are starting to groom areas of their bodies traditionally left savage and hairy. Grooming is one of those things where by the time you notice it (like that overgrown nose hair, for example), 25 people have already noticed it.
For instance, back to the leg shaving example, 51.6% of men polled said they wouldn’t shave their legs while 33.1% of men trim their leg hair. 15.3% of men shave their legs
entirely. So, that’s 50% of men actually doing something to manage the length of their leg hair. You’ll see more muscle definition, feel good without hair friction, and look like you’re wearing ‘hair chaps’ naked if you manscape without shaving your legs (not a good look!).
Regarding butt hair, I think that the butt looks aesthetically better groomed – smooth and clean. A
benefit to a shaved butt is the crack sweats less and is more hygienic rather than being a hairy, meaty mess. Also, after you poop, you have to wipe more and get in there if you have crack hair. You can potentially irritate yourself, causing monkey butt, which hurts and burns. With no hair, you get squeaky clean super-fast. Best of all, you feel more aerodynamic after shaving your cheeks and crack – at least I do!
Another body part men don’t traditionally shave is the armpit. Shaving the underarm area is still a bit taboo to talk about. 68% of men shave their pits, according to a Men’s
Health survey. I think 100% of men should do something to manage their underarm hair. Why? You’ll sweat less, feel cooler, stink less, reduce deodorant clumping, and look more aesthetically pleasing.
Okay, the last non-traditional body part that I want to talk about the importance of shaving is your balls. Women. Women prefer a smooth and sexy sack rather than a big bushy
sack of monster man bush. Your testicles should be a sack of amazingness. BUT, and it’s a big but, you need to know the proper technique.
My routine may seem time-consuming, but I enjoy doing it. It makes me feel good. Find a routine that works for you and execute it every single week. There's no one-size-fits-all approach; we all need to decide what well-groomed means to us and then execute it repeatedly. Many of you ask about my grooming schedule -- and when I discuss it later, this is in no way, shape, or form me saying
you need to do these things. You need to extract the bits and pieces that work for you and your grooming needs. But here are some basics and what I do. First, you need to start -- then keep going or run the risk of looking like a hairy beast.

Tips
No razor burns and bumps – use single blades. Single blade = single pass, which significantly reduces friction and irritation caused by shaving.
Pre-schedule and book hair cuts – every two weeks (possibly three)
No chapped lips! Use Vaseline — carry a mini-tub for convenience.
No dark under-eye circles by staying hydrated – consume enough water.
Stay fine, fresh, and sexy by investing in your skin - wash 2xs a day (morning and night), moisturize morning and night (using an SPF in the morning), and exfoliate 2xs a week.
To start this grooming schedule discussion, let's chat about shaving. I shave with a razor every week (once a week on Sundays) in the shower. Once a week is good for me because my hair doesn't grow super fast, nor is it super dark. Sure, I get some stubble by Thursday, but nothing too noticeable. You need to establish your interval based on your hair growth and
color.
Before getting into the shower, I use my Brio grooming tool without an attachment to go over my armpits, crotch, and butt cheeks. Hey, if I have furry little cheeks with shaved legs, that's going to look a bit odd. In the shower, I shave my legs, arms, chest, and testicles. Once my feet have been softened by the water, I use a pumice stone to get rid of
calluses on the balls of my feet.
Once a week (again, on Sundays), I use tweezers to pluck my eyebrows. I also use my nose hair trimmer to trim my nose hairs -- if not trimmed, they start getting nuts! Yup, they grow a lot faster than the rest of my body hair. At this time, I alsoclip my toenails and fingernails with my nail clippers.
After that is done, I use my Brio grooming tool with a 2 mm attachment to go over my beard. I also shave my neck and high-up on my cheeks.  I'll usually do my facial hair twice a week because it's one of those aspects where you want to make sure that it's looking good and properly groomed all the time because if not, you can look disheveled and unkempt.

Grooming doesn't take that long IF YOU KEEP UP WITH IT. When you go for weeks without grooming, then it will take much longer. I am not saying you should groom like I do, as I am a bit excessive and go a bit overboard, BUT I would definitely recommend sticking to a schedule and maintaining that schedule. Keep yourself
looking polished and presentable all the time.
